Via Bremen Logistics Ambassadors is a joint one-year program of Via Bremen, Jacobs University and University of Bremen.
The Via Bremen foundation is the trade mark for the port and logistics community of the state Bremen. Its goal is to make Bremen better known in the world as the first class logistics location.
Every year, several logistics undergraduate and master students from Jacobs University will be selected to join Via Bremen as the Logistics Ambassadors, with the purpose to represent Bremen when starting a career in the logistics industry worldwide in the future.
In this program, they will be able to get more familiar with Bremen, both as a port and logistics hub and as a tourist attraction. They will participate in Via Bremen events with members of the logistics industry, including the yearly Captain’s Dinner in the traditional Bremen Town Hall. In addition, they will go to exclusive excursions with exciting insights behind the logistics scenes.
Last week, the logistics ambassadors went to the Maritimes Competenzcentrum (Harbor Training Center ma-co) to learn how to drive the forklift, one of the key vehicles in logistics.
In February, the logistics ambassadors went to the Weserport and learnt how the big ports organised the daily transportation.
They also went to the BLG high-bay warehouse for Tchibo– the biggest high-bay warehouse in Europe.
There will be more excursions coming. 🙂
