Though Jacobs may not offer courses in media, drama or music, that has not stopped Jacobs students from performing on stage and showcasing their wonderful talents. One such instance where students combine their singing and acting talents is in the ‘Jacobs Way’ musical. The ‘Jacobs Way’ depicts typical student life scenarios in the most comical ways that are best understood by Jacobs students. Originally produced in 2011, the musical has now become campus tradition to be performed every year in order to give a voice to the ever-evolving life at Jacobs.
What amazed the most was the diversity of the cast that included students from a wide range of majors in both the School of Engineering and Sciences and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Seeing my BCCB Lab Teaching Assistant singing on stage was simple awesome. But yet again that is what makes Jacobs unique – you really take the dive into diversity. Most students here have a passion for much more than just academics. While studies might be their primary focus Jacobs students take every chance at practising their different hobbies.
